I bought this to read last year or two years ago maybe…before there was a Netflix adaptation. I still haven’t watched, but now that I’ve finished reading, I think I will. Let It Snow! In A Boy Called Christmas, Nikolas and Joel (his father, the Wood Cutter) are poor. Nikolas has no brothers or sisters and Miika (a mouse) is his only friend. Throughout his life, he has only received two christmas presents: a sleigh and a turnip doll. The leading star of A Boy Called Christmas is Henry Lawfull who met producers at the beginning of their casting search who then chose him to play Nikolas a couple of months later. Coming to cinemas, Sky Cinema as part of Christmas TV scheduling in the UK, plus launching on Netflix in select countries such as the US, the film tells the story of the origins of Santa Claus/Father Christmas through the exploits of Nikolas, a young boy from Finland who ends up setting off on a magical quest.
