About this deal

Honestly I cannot with the subtle misogyny. Like of course Lily chooses to take the high-road and says he should apologize to Amy when he tells her about her when he says sorry to Lily. Lily is literally family with the woman who her husband has slept with and she knows wants him. In private she knows he's good-looking and wants him and is sort of insecure, in public she is very secure in their relationship. none of these characters are actually genuine enough for us as reader to grasp them. Some of my favorite characters are Amy, who is a raging alcoholic driven to insanity? Aliyah is someone who would step over a dead body to get to the money. Witte, well, a total surprise and I love him. Can I have one of my own? Kane. We cannot reveal too much or there will be a spoiler alert. The same applies to Lily…and a few other characters who were hidden in the shadows but rose to the surface as we neared the end. They were a pleasant surprise and I cannot wait to read more about them…in a future story.

Well, aren’t you confident, considering you don’t know anything about Lily or what happened between her and Kane in the past.” Aliyah, Kane's mother, sees a threat. Lily has dangerous control over Kane and there can be only one queen on this throne. Powerful . . . I'm obsessed! Why can't the rest of the series be available immediately?' 5* READER REVIEW From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Crossfire® saga comes the beginning of a twisty tale of obsession and rage, as a trinity of women protect what they covet at any cost. Meanwhile Aliyah, Kane's mother, has worked hard for her position of power. She has never believed Lily is who she says she is, and will stop at nothing to expose her.

The harsh sounds visibly jolt her. She surges into a run, pushing her way through the throng on the pavement, her emerald-hued dress a beacon in the crowd. Waxing poetic doesn’t make them any less dead. And, weirdly, Kane won’t talk about her at all. As in don’t even mention her name within earshot because he turns glacial.” In his room, her image is the only spot of colour, but that isn’t what makes the photograph so striking. It is the look in her eyes, feverish and incisive. In any case, it’s futile pointing out that Darius has never had a crisis of any kind because Kane has insulated him since re-entering our lives. Darius owes so much to his older brother – his freedom from student debt, his livelihood and even his wife.

Years of sleeping beneath her picture and surrounding himself with reminders of her primed him for an even deeper obsession. Like his father and me, Kane is a sexual creature, and he’s essentially been alone for too long, blowing off steam far too infrequently with one-night stands. I figure she left him,” he continues, “and he’s been lying to everyone this whole time to save face.”

And just like that, Suzanne’s anxiety is gone, replaced with a bright smile. She has the most beautiful lips – plush and naturally darker around the edges and softly pink within, like natural lip liner. “Oh, thank you! I’m so happy you enjoy my work.” Holding the newspaper out to her, he sighs heavily. I can’t see his face, but her frown of concern is insightful. She takes the paper but keeps her gaze on him. “What is it?” I also don’t like it when we get a character’s perspective/POV but what they really know/are planning is never revealed. It just feels so unrealistic that Lily would never be thinking about it while we’re in her POV. I’d imagine Lily would be conspiring more with her colleagues and replanning. By rights, the empty echo of abandonment should mar the beautiful suite, yet there is a strange energy here, a precursor to life itself.

Sylvia Day has created such a beautifully written masterpiece which is adorned with the mysterious, sexy, exciting and suspenseful vibes’ 5***** Reader Review

You see, every bone in me wanted the visceral feelings of Bared To You, the entire Crossfire series to be fair, sadly (and I mean SADLY 😢😢😢) though, it's so far from that I don't think I'll read her books again. A glimpse. A look of terror. Lily…She is like a Phoenix, risen from the dead. Is she going to burn down the world? What’s the story? At least that’s what the people who knew her would have you believe. None of the family ever met her because they’d had an estrangement from Kane for years. Her friends will tell you she was gorgeous, smart, glamorous, the perfect hostess, great at everything, so on and so forth, yada yada …” I tell her caustically. “Everyone loved her.”
