A exception to this is our protagonist, Tetsuo. He's a very well written character and has the most development of the cast as the story progresses and he become each time more and more decided to do anything for the well-being of his family, doesn't matter what it costs for others and himselfs, but all the while constantly being haunted by the sins he commited to do so. Kasen is the best character. When she learns about her husband killing Nobuto, she's like "Cool. What do you want me to do?" But it makes me wonder if this was her first rodeo... a b c d e f g Dempsey, Liam (April 14, 2023). "My Home Hero English Dub Reveals Cast & Crew, Release Date". Crunchyroll. The characters and events are rooted in mundane life and even the more outlandish elements introduced have never left me feeling they couldn’t exist or happen in the world I know. Evil Counterpart: Matsuri to Tetsuo. So, I recently presented my thesis for my master’s degree, and against my better judgment, you guessed it, it was about anime, history, retrospective etc. Now, I do not mention this to say that my opinion matters, nor to gain credibility and say that I am right about what I am saying, but none the less having read almost every word that has ever been written in English about anime that even has the slightest academic value, really widens one’s horizons and perspective about the phenomenon. Also, whether you agree with my opinion or not, whether I am bashing or complementing a show, I’m always making a case, I am using reasoning. I am also at a point in my life that I have the knowledge, experience and self awareness, to be able to state that something is good, is of a certain quality but even so I do not like it or that it is bad, it is trash but even so I like it anyway. That sounds really weird and contradictory, I know, alas that is what some people have to go through based on what they chose to do in life, for the vast majority of people what they like is good and what they don’t like is bad, simple as that. Anyway, where am I going with this, as additional research for my paper, I tried, keyword here is TRIED, to watch almost every seasonal anime for the last couple of seasons. Cause I had to make a case for some of my closing remarks about the current state of the anime industry. More or less what I said is that even though the industry is probably at its highest point in terms of popularity and finally it seems that it has solved the oldest and biggest problem that has been plaguing it since its inception, which has always has been for anime to be profitable, unfortunately it is at its lowest point in terms content, in terms of creativity, originality and almost every other quality that isn’t about the audiovisual improvements technology offers. Schley, Matt (June 20, 2022). "My Home Hero Crime Suspense Manga Gets TV Anime Series". Otaku USA. Archived from the original on February 6, 2023 . Retrieved June 20, 2022. A normal salaryman, Tetsuo Tosu, discovers that his adult daughter Reika is being physically and emotionally abused by her new boyfriend, a young man named Nobuto. Soon after discovering that Nobuto has a history of murdering other girls that he has dated in the past and is currently trying to get money from Reika's grandparents before planning to dispose of her as well, Tetsuo murders Nobuto. He then resolves to commit "the perfect crime" and hides the body with the help of his wife, Kasen. However, Nobuto was the only son of Yoshitatsu Matori, who runs a powerful yakuza branch in the city. While Tetsuo wishes to protect his family, he must now deal with Matori's men as they threaten his family to find out what happened to Nobuto. Starts out as a great thriller/mystery, with realistic characters and great pacing. Comparable to a 'Death Note'/'Cat and Mouse' type of vibe between multiple characters.

For one, he seeks to find those responsible for his son's disappearance with plans of killing them, yet he's perfectly fine with Nobuto having murdered several of his girlfriends as well as all his other crimes. Tetsuo even points this out to him, not that Matsuri seems to care considering he's just as if not more deranged than Nobuto.

in Japanese). Kodansha. Archived from the original on January 25, 2021 . Retrieved January 27, 2021. If I had to say something - this should probably have ended around chapter 50. The continuation of the story isn't so much a rehashing (don't worry) but an afterstory caused by a bad accident. Horrible Judge of Character: Reika insists to her father that nothing is wrong with Nobuto despite there being blatant evidence of him beating her. Unfortunately, she chooses to double down on this belief when Tetsuo suggests otherwise, leading to his and Nobuto's confrontation with each other. Somewhat justified, as it's implied that Nobuto had been emotionally manipulating her into staying loyal to him. It manages to build constant tension, not giving you rest and not letting you to ever get bored, as our protagonist (Tetsuo) is constantly in the verge of being caught, and even if, up until now, he has managed every time to not let his murder be discovered by the yakuza or police, it always is in a very realistic way and he can never get completely rid on suspicion over him. This is also another plus for This is one of the most excellent thrillers I have ever read. It keeps you hooked throughout the whole thing and will always keep you on your toes.
