Due to the success of RWI, Ruth Miskin is currently involved in a series of nationwide training programmes for primary schools commissioned by the UK government, aimed at training teachers in effective phonics teaching. In 2007 the UK's Channel 4 broadcast a series of programmes featuring Ruth Miskin working in a failing school, using the RWI programme to raise standards. The Storybooks include texts in a range of engaging genres such as fairy tales, myths and legends, rhyming stories and familiar settings. Fred is a friendly frog and an adorable friend of our EYFS children, as well as an enthusiastic assistant to the teachers during bilingual phonics lessons.
