Not only do I normally check out a little once magic stuff gets involved, but it’s all such a departure from the zombie epic that was such a compelling cornerstone in the series. While still an exciting story, this book feels like the most rushed in the series, with an anticlimactic ending that feels unfinished. Taking place five years after the end of the first series, the new Justice League of Earth-2 unexpectedly received a cryptic signal from their home planet sent by Cyborg, leading them to embark on a mission to rescue their old friend in a dying world now overrun with the unliving. Zatanna and the Phantom Stranger confront Constantine on his actions but, following another message from Etrigan, Constantine tells everyone that the villains are about to unleash their Amazo army to destroy the Anti-Living.

Alfred, now living with Leslie Thompkins, struggles with his guilt over the deaths of his sons and begs to join Damian in the fight against the Anti-Living. Following this, Constantine creates a portal there as well with the team, then engage a horde of Anti-Living before Ravager arrives at the gate and Deadman answers the door with a horde of warriors willing to aid them. The art by Trevor Hairsine is really good throughout, telling the story clearly but with plenty of verve. Luckily for them, the bunker door opens for them to enter and Penguin offering them a chance to enter. Superman feels an intense surge of rage towards the lost lives of billions towards an undead Darkseid and sets forth as Spectre and Mxyptlk continue to fiercely battle.His character designs are still fantastic, giving us an older cast that embraces their respective roles with charisma and leadership. She even gives Arrow the Sword of Athena, still infused with Kryptonite from 5 years before and the League ventures to Earth, where they meet up with Kilowog on duty, monitoring the situation on Earth.

Despite the decision of the other cosmic beings to sacrifice the universe and move on to another, Spectre refuses, repairs the battery, and battles Mxyzptlk. Batman succumbs to the infection and attacks Alfred, Alfred apologizes to Bruce before shooting him. It's then that Blood transforms into Etrigan and warns Constantine of the coming danger, the demon Trigon is coming to wipe out the Anti-Living. It is revealed that Green Lantern also saved the group at the Daily Planet in a green energy shield bubble.

Superman gives a tearful and emotional farewell to his family and flies into space to deprive himself of oxygen, but before he can die, his transformation begins.

On Earth-2, President Lois Lane sends John Stewart and Guy Gardener to investigate why their neighboring planets have not been responding to their communication requests as Jon and Damien arrive through a Boom Tube with a cured Superman and Jonathan Kent. Wonder Girl takes Jon to Poison Ivy's jungle sanctuary for medical attention and reunites with the survivors there, including Mary Marvel, Doctor Fate and Cassandra Cain.Following this, John brings Fate to the room he kept hidden from him, demanding his helmet and amulet, which he refused, causing him to use the Spear of Destiny on him. The survivors of the infected apocalypse that ravaged Earth in the pages of DCeased have found a haven on a second Earth. In the Australian bunker, Penguin demands to know the progress of Ivo's androids, which he replies with are nearly done. Another spectacularly well written installment in the DCeased storyline, and this time it seems to be the end?

Jason Blood, who is also in the bunker, tells Constantine that Trigon is coming to destroy the Earth since the Anti-Life is preventing people from dying.The new trinity of Jon Kent/Superman, Daimen Wayne/Batman, and Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Women lead other heroes from their Earth-2 and head out to find Cyborg.
