About this deal

His oldest son Brad has become uncommunicative, and failing at school, his youngest Nick continues with issues from his abduction 6 months earlier, and his aunt continues her meddling matchmaking ways. The mystery was dual pronged and nicely layered, and while the perpetrator of the slaughter of innocent girls maybe isn't the hardest thing to figure out early on, the big picture is much less so and the story provided enough twists and turns and surprises to keep me invested throughout. Strong willed and independent Jenna has a good heart and a lot of compassion for friends and students alike, but has a tendency to assume too much responsibility and fails to let those who love her take care of her. As their conversations about the troubled teen increased and grow more intimate, Jenna and Steven soon find they're falling for each other, though they tread cautiously as both carry hidden wounds of their own. However, it does lead to some problems with Jenna, and even I got a little miffed with him when he got jealous and spitefully left Jenna alone at the school even though he supposedly feared for her safety.

The mystery involving the serial killer has a limited number of suspects but it still was a challenging case with a few red herrings thrown in the mix. Schoolteacher Jenna Marshall is also worried about Brad, and she decides to share her fears with Steven. The 'romance' and laughable sex scenes are completely out of place in this book, and feel as if they have been written by a completely different author and slotted in. I have read all the books in this series and they can't come out fast enough, the way Karen Rose has taken a character from each of the books and taken them to the next one but given them a story in their own right is so good. Not only is she smart, strong and brave but she has care and compassion for others, often helping at a hospice , volunteering or forming close bonds with her students.

It's not difficult to read, the plot was excellently mapped out, and I found myself wanting to read a bit more each time I went to put it down of an evening. This is my second Karen Rose book, the first one being the first of this series, and I've got to say I like her style. When the killer's murderous spree escalates, it becomes clear that the teenage cheerleaders he's lured from their homes and then killed and mutilated, have only been a warm up act for his ultimate performance, claiming Jenna Marshal as his next trophy. Stephen's priest friend, Mike was a good sounding board for Stephen's problems with both his boys and Jenna. p>The data controller is Headline Publishing Group Limited. The quarterback and his friends had been harassing Jenna and vandalizing her classroom, egged on by his father, while Josh had been targeting girls who looked like Jenna until he saw her with Steven and she fell from the pedestal he'd put her on.
