We stopped pre-chilling once it seemed fairly pointless as had no complaints about performance that matched the specs. Going forward I think I should probably invest in some bigger blocks, but apart from that I am chuffed to bits.

Our Long Boxes have strong rope handles at either end which make it easy for single handed or joint lifting. Okay, there’ll be water, lots of it, but it stays cold and if your box has a drain tap then the level can be kept manageable. It gets used a lot as an extra fridge when we've got guests at Christmas, as a drinks cooler at BBQs and I have loaned it to my next door neighbour when her freezer packed up.
