About this deal

I have found these books fascinating and gripping as the author fills out the stories of her main and minor characters. This adds to the enjoyment of this novel, as it feels like you are getting three stories in the one novel. She has seeped her series deep in rich Irish history, she delivers a strong sense of place and presents the reader with a rich cast of main, as well as supporting characters.

So if how I described it may be something you'd like to try or do like; read without worrying you had to start with book one. I came into The Daughters of Castle Deverill, the second book in a series written by established British author Santa Montefiore, having just read its predecessor, Songs of Love and War. It's a beautifully written, romantic, heartwarming tale that grabs you from the very first page and leaves you eagerly awaiting the final novel in the series, The Last Secret of the Deverills, due to be published in Canada in January 2019. Registered address: Unit 5, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom.

Our son came up with the idea when he was six years old and it's now being made into a movie by Fox Disney, which is beyond exciting. S. - then was sad to see that the library didn't get the sequel (UK author) - so I bought it here and LOVED this book, I will be donating to our library when I'm done! There's nothing better than sinking into a novel and empathising with the characters as they journey through the novel, experiencing both ups and downs.

Castle Deverill, cherished home to the Deverill family in the west of Ireland for hundreds of years, has burned to the ground.El libro me gustó tiene muchos datos históricos que me intrigaron y que inevitable investigué, ya que el libro solo los toca como mención, lo que hubiera estado genial que se hubiera profundizado más en el conflicto social y económico de esa época. Montefiore also adds another locale, by basing an additional story thread in South Africa, allowing her to contrast all three settings. Once again the writing is lush and descriptive and pulls you right into the story almost as if you are there!

It is a novel that is grand in scale, as it also traces the heritage of the Deverill Castle and its inhabitants, back to the time of the reign of King Charles II. The characters I fell in love with in the first book all grew in personality and there were several new additions, an eclectic bunch that I would never in my wildest dreams have thought had a place in this story, but they just added to the wow factor that this book delivers. Applicability of cancellation rights: Legal rights of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations available for UK or EU consumers do not apply to certain products and services. I absolutely loved Songs of Love and War (5-star read for me) but this 2nd in the trilogy didn't captivate me as much as Love and War did. Don’t try to read it by itself, it’s too complicated a story and it needs the enrichment from the beginning. Santa Montefiore's novels have been translated into twenty languages and have sold more than three million copies in England and Europe.

This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. It lacks the intimacy of the first book, and the feisty characters I'd loved first time round have now become two-dimensional and irritating. I was sorry to reach the end of The Daughters of Castle Deverill, as I now have to wait for the third and final chapter in the series. Daughters of Castle Deverill began just where Songs of Love and War left off and it took this epic drama to another level. I didn't think I had another in me, but here I am, celebrating my twenty-first and polishing my twenty-second for publication next year!

I adore nature, so I tend to plant my characters in rural settlings - by the sea or in the countryside - and most of them are stand alone, except Last Voyage of the Valentina and The Italian Matchmaker, and my recent trilogy, The Deverill Chronicles, which is set in Ireland from 1910 to the sixties. It jumps through the years with no pause to appreciate the present, meaning stories are rushed and have no emotional impact. In het begin moest ik lang nadenken wie wie ook al weer was, maar er staat een stamboom van de Deverills voor in het boek, wat het makkelijker maakte. The story started moving, and the pieces started making sense together–I still felt like I was playing catch up the whole time, though. As the lingering effects of the Great War is felt, followed by the financial crash of 1929, the book focuses on how this impacts on our three main players.
