Edinburgh Preserves was set up by Sandy Herd in 1995 with a simple idea to produce a family recipe for Tomato Chutney.

If you keep some blueberries or blackberries in the freezer, you can sprinkle a few into the glass instead of ice cubes. I want to note that the sample bottle I was given for this review was the older bottle style (see below).For a dramatic twist, add a blue violet flower, or even a bright orange nasturtium flower, both of which are edible. Six Dogs Blue embodies the freshness of a classic dry gin with the addition of two infusions that, when combined, were previously unknown in the world of gin: the blue pea flower which provides an earthy ‘cut-grass’ layer as well as the gin’s naturally blue hue; and rose pelargonium which gives our gin its refreshing lightness and slightly floral character. With a mixture of traditional and modern botanicals the Gin is Pot Distilled in small batches to create a complex and delicious drink.

Sip this delightful elixir, and let the flavors playfully tickle your palate, creating a delightful symphony of taste.Described as fruity with light floral notes on the nose, citrus and spice to taste with a lingering sweetness and a hint of butterscotch on the finish. There are no artificial colours or flavours, it’s simply infused with the Blue Gardenia flower which grows in Thailand. So why choose between Blue Gin and Parma Violet Gin when you can have both in one convenient bottle?

Made with carefully selected botanicals including forget-me-nots, Scottish heather, sage and kaffir lime leaves, this well rounded gin should be served with a premium tonic and garnished with lemon or lime to accentuate the spicy, floral and sweet notes. Comes with a small sachet of Wildflower seeds the encorages the activity of butterflies, bees and other pollinators.

This turns it a beautiful inky-blue colour but barely alters its taste from our classic London Dry gin.
