The Gower Way, inaugurated by the Prince of Wales in July 1998, traverses the length of the ancient lordship of Gower, surrounded by 5,000 years of history, from Bronze Age dolmens and Iron Age forts, medieval platform sites, to holy wells, Norman castles and churches.

The Gower Way and St Illytd's Way are covered in the area to the West of Swansea around Llanelli and the Mumbles.
