The Falcon's Malteser is far from high literature as it comprises of many shallow characters, a thirteen-year old who speaks like Humphrey Bogart and a mystery story that centres around a box of chocolates. It's funny, really laugh out loud funny, but still manages to entertain in a way more adult mystery books do. I am a big fan of Raymond Chandler and Dashiel Hammett and I loved the comical take on the wise cracking hardboiled dialogue of the above authors.Both McLinden and Dale reprised their respective film roles, which makes the television series act as a sequel to Just Ask for Diamond.
